Important: NYX Device Center is a system-level utility that can perform destructive actions
on disks and USB devices (for example, formatting or wiping media). It is your responsibility to choose the
correct device and confirm any destructive action. We do not accept liability for data loss caused by using this tool.
1. Who we are
This privacy policy explains how NYX STUDIOS INC ("we", "us", or "our") handles
information in connection with the NYX Device Center / NYX Drive Utility Windows application (the "App").
The App is designed to help you view and manage storage devices on your own Windows computer
(for example: listing drives, formatting volumes, restoring USB sticks to a normal state).
2. What the App actually does
The App runs locally on your Windows device. Its main functions are:
Listing internal and external drives, including basic details such as size, filesystem and type.
Formatting volumes when you explicitly request it.
Restoring USB drives to a normal single-partition state when you explicitly request it.
Showing basic disk usage statistics and maintaining a local log of actions.
All of these operations happen on your machine using Windows APIs and PowerShell commands.
3. Data we do not collect
The App is built as an offline desktop tool. By default:
We do not collect or transmit your personal files or their contents.
We do not upload drive contents, filenames, or folder structures to us.
We do not collect or store passwords, product keys, or other sensitive secrets.
We do not serve ads and we do not sell your data.
Any disk operations (format, clean, restore) are performed locally on your system. We do not see what is on your drives.
4. Data the App may handle locally
To show you information and keep basic diagnostics, the App may read and temporarily hold
some system-level metadata, for example:
Drive letters, volume labels, capacity and free-space information.
Whether a drive is marked as fixed or removable.
Non-personal error messages from Windows / PowerShell when an operation fails.
This information is used only to render the UI and to help you understand what the App is doing.
It is not sent to NYX STUDIOS INC by default.
5. Local log files
The App may create a small log file on your device (for example in your
%APPDATA%\NYXDriveUtility folder). This log is intended to help you or us debug issues if you
choose to contact support.
The log may include:
Timestamps of when you started the App.
High-level actions such as "Formatted E:" or "Restored USB F:" (drive letters only).
Relevant error messages from Windows/PowerShell.
The log does not contain your files or file contents. You control the log file and can
delete it at any time.
6. Telemetry and analytics
The App itself does not automatically send telemetry or analytics data to NYX STUDIOS INC.
However, the Microsoft Store and Windows itself may collect anonymous usage or crash statistics
as part of the operating system and store ecosystem. That data is governed by Microsoft’s own policies.
7. When we might see your data
We only see information from your system if you actively choose to share it with us, for example:
You email us logs or screenshots for support.
You describe your system configuration in an email or ticket.
If you send us logs or screenshots:
Review them yourself first and remove anything you consider sensitive.
We will use them only to investigate your issue and then keep them only as long as reasonably necessary.
8. Children
NYX Device Center is a technical system utility aimed at adults. It is not designed for use by children
and does not knowingly target or collect data from anyone under the age required by applicable law.
9. Data security
Because the App is primarily offline and runs locally, the main security risk is misuse of its
disk-management capabilities (for example, accidentally formatting the wrong drive).
Your responsibilities: Always double-check the selected device and drive letter before
confirming a destructive action. Maintain your own backups. We cannot recover data that has been wiped or
overwritten using this tool.
On our side, we take reasonable steps to secure any support information you send us (for example, storing
support emails in reputable, access-controlled services). No method of storage or transmission is perfectly
secure, so you should not send highly sensitive information in plain email.
10. Your rights and choices
Because the App does not create an online account or cloud profile, most privacy control stays on your device:
You can uninstall the App at any time using standard Windows uninstall options.
You can delete local log files and configuration files stored by the App.
If you contact us and provide personal information (for example your name or email), you may request that we
delete that information from our support records unless we are legally required to keep it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the
"Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect
means you accept the updated policy.
12. Future plans for NYX Device Center
NYX Device Center / NYX Drive Utility is an active project. The current version is just the base layer.
Over time we plan to improve the tool significantly. Our current direction includes:
Richer UI and workflows: a more advanced, modular interface with clearer drive overviews,
better visual feedback, and safer wizards for complex operations.
Modular architecture: moving more functionality into separate, signed DLLs or modules
to improve performance, maintainability, and the ability to ship advanced features without bloating a
single EXE.
Additional device tools: extending beyond basic formatting and restore operations to
include more diagnostics, health checks, and non-destructive repair options where possible.
Better safety features: stronger confirmations, clearer risk warnings, and smarter
detection to help reduce the chance of destructive actions on the wrong device.
Configuration & managed setups: options to lock down features or pre-configure the App
for support technicians or managed environments.
Important about future plans: The items above describe our current direction and
intentions, not guaranteed features or release dates. If we add functionality that changes how data is
handled or stored, we will update this privacy policy to reflect the behavior of the released version.
